Kristolyn Lloyd, who made her Broadway debut in the original cast of Dear Evan Hansen, returns to the Main Stem in the Roundabout/A.R.T. revival of 1776 beginning October 25. Lloyd succeeds Crystal Lucas-Perry in the role of John Adams as Lucas-Perry departs the production to join the cast of the Broadway premiere of Ain't No Mo'.
Jeffrey L. Page and Diane Paulus co-direct the Sherman Edwards-Peter Stone musical about the founding fathers on the brink of signing the Declaration of Independence. The musical began previews at Roundabout's American Airlines Theatre September 16, and officially opened October 6. The Broadway production features a racially and ethnically diverse cast, composed entirely of performers who identify as female, nonbinary, and trans.
