Performances begin March 15 for A Celebration of Harold Pinter, which was originally staged Off-Broadway in 2012.
Presented by The Irish Repertory Theatre, John Malkovich once again directs Julian Sands (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) in the acclaimed solo show.
The return engagement, presented in association with Nick Brooke LTD, is scheduled to run through April 3 at the DR2 Theatre. The work debuted at the Edinburgh Festival in 2011 and was the result of Sands' close collaboration with Pinter. In 2005, the celebrated playwright approached Sands to prepare a set of his poems for a special presentation in London, granting him rare access into his personal life and work. Following Pinter's death in 2008, Sands drew on their time together to develop A Celebration of Harold Pinter, which later ran in New York and garnered the writer and actor a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance.
The production has lighting design by Michael O’Connor and wardrobe by Nicole Farhi. Christine Lemme is the production stage manager.
Tickets are on sale through The Irish Rep box office at (212) 727-2737 or online at irishrep.org. The DR2 Theatre is located at 103 East 15th St., Manhattan.
