Stage and screen star Juan Pablo Di Pace, who made his London stage debut in the revival of Chicago, will go it solo at 54 Below October 4–5 at 7 PM.
In Juan Pablo Di Pace: Live!, the Argentinian actor will offer songs by Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, and the Bee Gees as well as a few original compositions. Michael Orland is the musical director.
On October 12, the artist will make his cinematic debut as a writer-director with the semi-autobiographical film Duino, which will make its New York premiere at NewFest: The 36th Annual New York LGBTQ+ Film Festival at SVA Theaters.
"I’m
so excited to return to the legendary 54 Below, the first place I
performed to a NYC audience! The room is so beautiful, and the acoustics
are to die for,” said Di Pace in a statement. “I
can’t wait to bring my new show, where I celebrate my deep musical
theatre roots and the music that makes up my life-soundtrack, just a
week before Duino, my debut film as a writer and director that I also
star in, makes its New York City debut at New York’s NewFest Film
Festival on October 12. I am overjoyed to bring these two pieces of me
to the city that never sleeps!”
Known for his portrayal of Fernando on Netflix’s Fuller House, Di Pace performed on screen in Mamma Mia!, danced in Chicago in London’s West End, starred in Saturday Night Fever on stage in Spain, played Jesus in a TV mini-series, and danced the tango on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
