Josh Young, who starred in Broadway’s Amazing Grace and Jesus Christ Superstar, popped the question to Bright Star and Side Show star Emily Padgett in Bermuda.
Padgett posted an engagement photo on her Instagram with a link to Fiander Foto’s photography blog.
The blog post reads, “The couple, both Broadway Actors and Singers from New York City, already had a trip planned to Bermuda and Josh noted he wanted to propose on the beach. After careful consideration, Josh and I chose Jobson’s Cove as the spot!
“Josh wanted to ensure that the proposal was a complete surprise for Emily and developed a detailed plan. Emily was under the impression that she was going to model for me to help me ‘build my portfolio,’ which is a common thing asked of actors. After a few photos had been taken ‘for my portfolio,’ I directed Josh to join in. Her reaction was priceless; squeals of joy, little jumps up and down, and she said yes! I think it’s fair to say that Josh pulled off the surprise! Please join me in wishing the two of them the very best as they start the next chapter of their lives together!”

Padgett has also been seen on Broadway in Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, and Grease. Young was Tony-nominated for his performance as Judas Iscariot in Jesus Christ Superstar.
