Tony winner Jason Alexander will direct Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts' 2022 season opener, Windfall. Scooter Pietsch's new comedy will begin previews May 31 with opening night set for June 4 at the Sag Harbor, New York, venue.
The cast will feature Spencer Garrett as Glenn Brannon, Ro Boddie as Galvan Kidd, Badia Farha as Kate Rearden, Abigail Isom as Hannah Higley, Talia Thiesfield as Jacqueline Vanderbilt, and Dylan S. Wallach as Chris Hart.
The play follows five office workers who bet all their money on a one-billion-dollar lottery to escape their maniacal boss, but find themselves divided over the possibility of winning the jackpot. Performances continue through June 19.
Alexander starred in the original Broadway cast of the Hal Prince and Stephen Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along and productions of The Rink and Jerome Robbins' Broadway, winning a Tony for his work in the latter. His screen credits include Seinfeld, Pretty Woman, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Alexander and Pietsch lead the creative time with scenic and lighting designer Mike Billings, costume designer Christopher Vergara, sound designer Twi McCallum, props designer Lauren Page Russell, and production stage manager Christine Catti. Terysa Malootian is the assistant stage manager, and Rebecca Werner is the production assistant and COVID-19 safety manager.
