News It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman to Get West End Run at Leicester Square Theatre Charles Strouse and Lee Adams's short-lived 1966 Broadway musical It's a Bird… It's a Plane…. It's Superman is to get a short West End run, beginning performances Feb. 10, 2015, prior to an official opening Feb. 13, for a run through Feb. 21.

Directed by Randy Smartnick and with musical direction by Aaron Clingham, this production was first seen at Walthamstow's Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre in March 2014. Choreography is by Kate McPhee, with casting by Benjamin Newsome. It is produced by Andrew Yon for All Star Productions. 

The show, which has a book by David Newman and Robert Benton, who would go on to write the screenplays for "Bonnie & Clyde" and several of the Superman movies, is based on the "Superman" comic strip. It tells the tale of Superman’s efforts to defeat the vengeful Dr. Abner Sedgwick, a ten-time Nobel Prize-losing scientist, who seeks to destroy the world’s symbol of good. Superman also comes into romantic conflict with Max Mencken, a columnist for the Daily Planet newspaper who is intent on revealing Superman's true identity, as he resents Lois Lane's attraction to Superman.

The cast is led by Craig Berry as Superman, with Michella LaFortune as Lois. Also in the cast are Paul Harwood, Sarah Kennedy, Matthew Ibbotson, Charlie Voss, Andrwe Truluck, Jonathan Chan, Thomas Widdop, Christina Harris, William M Lee, Jade Nelson, Vicky Longley, Charlotte Debattista and Shiv Rabheru.
