Blanchard played the title character in the 2003 Broadway revival of Gypsy and recently appeared in the film of Into the Woods as Florida.
The new film, which was announced at the Cannes Film Festival and has begun shooting in New York City, is penned and directed by "Orange is the New Black" writer Sian Heder. It tells the story of Tallulah (Page), a free-spirited woman who rescues a toddler from a reckless housewife and attempts to pass the baby off as her own with her ex-boyfriend's mother (Janney).
Also among the cast are Broadway talents Janney (9 to 5), Evan Jonigkeit (High, The Snow Geese), Tony winner John Benjamin Hickey (The Normal Heart), David Zayas (Anna in the Tropics), Zachary Quinto (The Glass Menagerie) and Uzo Aduba (Godspell), best-known for her role as "Crazy Eyes" in the hit TV series "Orange is the New Black."
A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
