The live-action film craze comes on the heels of the successful adaptations of "Maleficent," "Cinderella" and "Alice in Wonderland."
The Hollywood Reporter announced that the latest film in development is "Sword in the Stone," with "Game of Thrones" writer Bryan Cogman, who tweeted a picture of himself with the iconic sword at Disneyland. Brigham Taylor will produce.

Also recently reported to hit the big screen are a live-action prequel to "Aladdin," entitled "Genies," and "Winnie the Pooh."
"Genies" will be produced by Tripp Vinson through his Vinson Films banner. Damian Shannon and Mark Swift are writing the script for the prequel, which will center on a genie trapped in Aladdin's lamp. "Listen Up Philip" writer-director Alex Ross Perry will adapt "Winnie the Pooh," which will focus on an adult version of the book's Christopher Robin. Other live-action movies include "Mulan," with a new script by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek; the "Night on Bald Mountain" sequence from "Fantasia," written and executive-produced by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless; "Beauty and the Beast," featuring a cast including Audra McDonald, Emma Watson and Josh Gad; "The Jungle Book," featuring a voice cast including Christopher Walken and Scarlett Johansson; "Dumbo," directed by Tim Burton; and "Tink," starring Reese Witherspoon as Tinker Bell.
