It’s a beautiful frickin’ day! Heathers the Musical is coming back to New York City. The hit West End production of the show is currently on a U.K. tour and it has added the Big Apple to its stop, according to the show's official website. It's not yet clear if this production will play Broadway or Off-Broadway, or who will be in its cast. But we can safely say whatever happens, how very.

The musical adaptation of Daniel Waters' 1989 cult film favorite features a book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe.

Heathers the Musical follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, who's on track to become one of the most popular girls in school after befriending the beautiful but cruel Heathers, only to meet a mysterious teen rebel who changes everything.

The show first premiered in 2013 in Los Angeles before running Off-Broadway the following year. This new production originated in 2018 in the West End before going on two national tours, and an encore engagement in the West End earlier this summer. The production is currently on a U.K. tour, with the final stop in early October. The NYC dates and venue will be announced at a later date.

Produced by Bill Kenwright Ltd. and Paul Taylor-Mills, the production is directed by Andy Fickman with choreography and associate direction by Gary Lloyd, associate choreography by Chris Parkinson, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Dan Samson, musical direction by Will Joy, and associate musical direction by Jeremy Wootton.

The U.K. company features Esme Bowdler as Heather Chandler, Sedona Sky as Heather Duke, and Daisy Twells as Heather McNamara plus Jenna Innes as Veronica Sawyer, Keelan McAuley as Jason “J.D” Dean, Amy Miles as Martha Dunnstock, Lucy Sinclair as Ms. Fleming/Veronica’s Mom, Iván Fernández González as Kurt Kelly, Jason Battersby as Ram Sweeney, Alexander Service as Kurt’s Dad/Veronica’s Dad/Principal, Conor McFarlane as Ram’s Dad/Big-Bud/Coach, Ben Fenwick as Beleaguered Geek, Madeleine Hargrave as Midwestern Surfer Punk, Eliza Bowden as New Wave Party Girl, May Tether as Drama Club Drama Queen, Jasmine Cole as Young Republicanette, Kelly Sweeney as Stoner Chick, Lewis Asquith as Hipster Dork, and Bradly Doko as Preppy Stud.
