According to Deadline, the CW's long running thriller series Riverdale, based on the Archie Comics, has announced new casting for its seventh and final season, including Broadway's Nicholas Barasch.

The series, originally a modern reimagining of the classic comic strip, is jumping back to 1955 in the show's final season after experiencing a supernatural reset. Barasch will play Julien Blossom, the triplet brother of main character Cheryl Blossom. A bully, Julien is reportedly an entitled affluent athlete who regularly butts heads with his sister, and is an antagonist to almost every teenaged character in town. Prior to the time jump, Julien was a haunted doll.

Barasch is a frequent figure on stage, having just finished his leading turns in Irish Repertory Theatre's The Butcher Boy and the national tour of Hadestown, where he played Orpheus. Barasch was awarded for his performance in the 2016 Broadway revival of She Loves Me, and has also appeared on Broadway in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and West Side Story. On television, Barasch has appeared in Bull, How To Make It In America, and the animated children's series The Backyardigans.

Details on the airing of the seventh season of Riverdale will be released at a later date.
