Titled "Grease Sing-A-Long," the print includes the lyrics to the songs on the screen so audiences can join in, in the style of the "Sing-a-long Sound of Music" that has been presented successfully on ABC-TV and elsewhere.
The film is being digitally broadcast twice today, at 2 and 7 PM local time at each venue.
It is presented as part of a summer series of classic film revivals. EW quoted Jennifer Dorian, GM of Turner Classic Movies, saying, “The series allows us to bring fans another opportunity to engage with classic movies on the big screen from a variety of studios and eras in a way that aligns with our network’s mission to show films the way they were meant to be seen."
The 1978 film, which stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, was based on the 1972 Broadway musical, which starred Barry Bostwick, Carole Demas and Adrienne Barbeau.
Tickets can be purchased at Fathom Events’ website.
