In The Thanksgiving Play, now in previews at Second Stage's Helen Hayes Theater, four educators are meeting to devise a script for the town Thanksgiving pageant. In their efforts, as white people, to correctly honor Native Americans in the story, their show goes wildly off course.

The play officially opens April 20. It stars Chris Sullivan, D'Arcy Carden, Katie Finneran, and Scott Foley under the helm of Tony-winning director Rachel Chavkin. Take a look at some of the onstage chaos in the first production photos from the Broadway premiere of the Larissa FastHorse comedy.

Carden is perhaps best known for her Emmy-nominated turn as Janet in the comedy series The Good Place. She can also be seen in the streaming Amazon series A League of Their Own, inspired by the no-crying-in-baseball film classic. Finneran is a two-time Tony winner for her roles in Noises Off and Promises, Promises. She was last seen on Broadway in 2014's It's Only a Play. Foley, who made his Broadway debut in The Violet Hour in 2003, boasts a large film and television resumé, including roles in the series Scandal, Felicity, Whiskey Cavalier, and The Big Leap. He will next be seen in the HBO Max series Girls on the Bus. Sullivan originated the role of Hermes in the Off-Broadway production of Hadestown, and was last on Broadway in Nice Work If You Can Get It. He is a two-time Emmy nominee for his role as Toby Damon in the NBC hit drama series This Is Us.
