The Lighting Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical composer Rob Rokicki has teamed up with director Jenn Thompson and Caroline, or Change star Samantha Williams for a new Monstersongs track, "Silver Bullet," set to release October 7. Get a first listen to the song with its music video above.

"Silver Bullet" is the newest entry in Rokicki's Monstersongs, which blends graphic novels with a musical theatre rock album. Rokicki teamed up with illustrator Dave O’Neill to put a new spin on classic monster archetypes by setting them as musical theatre numbers written from the monsters’ point of view, with the original album releasing in 2017.

Rokicki describes the song as "a new 11-o’clock number where our young protagonist wrestles with the nature of good and evil. The songs asks: As we come of age, are we doomed to carry the anger of our parents? How can we fight the hate in the world without it making us hate, too?"

The new track features Rokicki on keys, Micah Burgess on guitar, Ashley Baier on drums, and Joel Waggoner on violin. The video is by Shoshana Feinstein, and Burgess mixed and engineered. Mastering is by Oscar Zambrano of Zampol Productions.
