The first Broadway production inspired by Mary Shelley’s story opened on January 4, 1981 at the Palace Theatre. The story has gone on to be recreated in Young Frankenstein, Frankenstein the Musical, and more.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, a new play with music by Eve Wolf, is currently playing Off-Broadway starring Tony nominee Robert Fairchild. The limited engagement from Ensemble for the Romantic Century is running through January 7 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
Cast members Fantasia Barrino, Corey Hawkins, Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, and more came together to celebrate the film in the lead up to its public premiere.
