Tomás Matos is stepping into their "Rapstress" era with their debut mixtape The WYD Mixtape, which is now available for listening on select platforms.
The New York multi-hyphenate performer (Diana, Hadestown) and recent Fire Island star has made an eight-track album produced in collaboration with Bill Coleman for Peace Bisquit. The WYD Mixtape is packed with Matos' fresh takes on the R&B and hip-hop genres the artist was raised on.
Matos, who says music has always served as a form of therapy, hopes their new music can empower listeners in a similar way, explaining, "Stepping into what I am penning my 'Rapstress'-era has shown me that my gifts and abundance have no bounds...I want my fans to use these tracks as mantras, affirmations, or simply to pump down the street [to]!"
Matos will celebrate the new recording March 2, performing at Frankie Sharp's new party DEMONS at Paragon in Brooklyn.
The WYD Mixtape is available for listening on select platforms now. For tickets to the release party and more information, visit here.
