Broadway News Euan Morton Begins Reign as Hamilton's King George July 28 The Tony nominee returns to Broadway, assuming the role from Brian d'Arcy James.

Euan Morton, who recently concluded a star turn in the national tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, joins the Broadway cast of Hamilton July 28. He assumes the role of King George III, succeeding fellow Tony nominee Brian d’Arcy James.

Morton received Tony and Olivier Award nominations for his performance as Boy George in Taboo. His additional credits include Cyrano de Bergerac and Sondheim on Sondheim on Broadway, as well as the Public's Measure for Measure and Parade at Ford's Theatre.

The current cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical includes Javier Muñoz as Alexander Hamilton, Brandon Victor Dixon as Aaron Burr, Lexi Lawson as Eliza Hamilton, Mandy Gonzalez as Angelica Schuyler, Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, Bryan Terrell Clark as George Washington, Alysha Deslorieux as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, J. Quinton Johnson as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison, and Anthony Lee Medina as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton.

Beginning August 29, Tony nominee Daniel Breaker, who currently plays Aaron Burr in the Chicago cast of the musical, will take on the role at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.
