Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Sharon Gless will guest star on an upcoming episode of the long-running BBC series Casualty. The emergency room drama premiered on BBC One in 1986 and recently wrapped its 31st season.

The Cagney & Lacey star is set to play Zsa Zsa Harper-Jenkinson, “a maestro of surgery” who was the former mentor to clinician Dylan Keogh (played by William Beck).

Gless’ episode will air sometime this fall.

“I'm a rabid Anglophile. Some of our finest American TV is British. Zsa Zsa is a wonderful character and I hope you all enjoy her too,” Gless said in a statement announcing her appearance on the series.

Gless made her London stage debut as Annie Wilkes in the 1992 world-premiere stage adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery. She appeared in the West End production of Neil Simon’s Chapter Two, as well as the New York production of The Vagina Monologues. Gless also recorded Marsha Norman’s ‘night, Mother for the BBC. She earned two Emmy Awards for playing detective Christine Cagney on the hit drama Cagney & Lacey opposite Tyne Daly. Her screen credits also include Nip Tuck, the American version of Queer as Folk, and Burn Notice on USA.
