News Elaine May Will Direct Mike Nichols Documentary Mike Nichols, the late performer, writer and director who left an indelible mark on stage and screen, will be remembered in a PBS documentary directed by his onetime writing and performing partner, Elaine May.

The documentary is scheduled to premiere 9 PM ET Jan. 29, 2016, as part of PBS' "American Masters" series.

Nichols, who began his career with her as "Nichols and May" in a series of wildly intelligent standup routines, which they took to Broadway and recordings, died Nov. 19, 2014.

In all, he directed 27 Broadway shows, and won eight Tony Awards, most recently for directing the 2012 revival of Death of a Salesman starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. His films include "The Graduate" and "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" His TV projects include adaptations of Pulitzer Prize-winning plays Wit and Angels in America.

Among those listed to discuss his career in the upcoming documentary are Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks, Paul Simon, Matthew Broderick and Alec Baldwin.

Julian Schlossberg will serve as producer. Roy Furman will be executive producer.
