Tony nominee Dominick Balletta will depart the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene February 4. Balletta served as Executive Director of the company for more than four years.

Balletta's exit is tied to the formation of High Hard Heat, his new production and management company that will straddles the commercial and non-profit worlds of film and live performance.

At National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, Balletta served as the New York City originating producer for Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman’s Harmony, was the lead producer of the 2022 Off-Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish, directed by Joel Grey, and produced the November 2023 world premiere of Amid Falling Walls, which presented Yiddish music and poetry rescued from ghettos, displaced person camps, and other locations throughout Holocaust. At Folksbiene, Balletta also helped to develop a curriculum educating over 3,000 students on antisemitism. 

Previously, Balletta spent 13 years at Tectonic Theater Project, where he received a Tony Award nomination as a producer of Moisés Kaufman's 33 Variations, starring Jane Fonda. In addition to NYTF and TTP, he has served as a non-profit senior executive for Jacob Burns Film Center, Film Forum, Ensemble Studio Theater, and Pan Asian Repertory Theater.
