Obie Award-winning playwright David Drake (The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me), who took over as artistic director of the Provincetown Theater last year, will direct a summer run of Terrence McNally’s Tony Award-winning play Love! Valour! Compassion!
DAVID DRAKE NAMED ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF PROVINCETOWN THEATER
McNally’s moving portrait of a group of gay men who spend a summer together in a turn-of-the-century farmhouse in upstate New York, will open July 16 and play Monday evenings through August 30.
The cast will include veteran Peter Gregus in the dual roles of John and James, with Mark Boucher as Arthur, Scott Cunningham as Perry, Adam Ross as Ramon, Tommy Walsh as Bobby, and Justin Quackenbush as Buzz. The role of Gregory has yet to be announced.
The design team includes Ellen Rousseau (set design), Chris Page (lighting design), and Carol Sherry (costume design.)
