A "hyper-intimate" production of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya plays a private loft in NYC's Flatiron District beginning June 28, with opening night set for July 6. The limited engagement of just 16 performances will continue through July 16. Each performance seats 40. Jack Serio (This Beautiful Future) is directing.
Tony winner David Cromer leads an all-star cast as Vanya, sharing the stage with Will Brill as Astrov, Julia Chan as Yelena, Will Dagger as Telegin, Tony nominee Marin Ireland as Sonya, two-time Tony winner Bill Irwin as Serebryakov, Nathan Malin as Yefim, Ann McDonough as Maria, and Virginia Wing as Marina.
The production, which uses a translation by Paul Schmidt, features scenic design by Walt Spangler, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, costume design by Ricky Reynoso, and sound design by Christopher Darbassie. Keyana Hemphill is production stage manager.
Ticket holders receive an exact address of the loft at least 24 hours in advance of their performance. A digital lottery offering $20 tickets is available at VanyaNYC.com.
OHenry Productions is presenting, with producer Oliver Roth, co-producer The Dennis & Victoria Ross Foundation, and associate producers Cameron Kasky and Christian Palomares.
