The Tony nominee chats with Jimmy Fallon about meeting the icon, the idea of playing Cher, and her HBO series Made for Love.

"She came and I burst into doves. I was beside myself...she's an icon," said Cristin Milioti, telling Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show about the time legend Liza Minnelli visited with the cast after a performance of the Tony-winning musical Once, in which Milioti originated the role of Girl. "She was lovely. She lined us all up, and went up and down the line and gave everyone two specific compliments, while holding their shoulders."

It's been ten years since Milioti earned her Tony nomination for Once, and the performer has yet to return to Broadway, but she's kept plenty busy. She appeared for two seasons on the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and is currently in the second season of the HBO Original series Made for Love, playing opposite fellow Tony nominee Billy Magnussen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike).

Watch the clip above, from the April 25 episode of The Tonight Show, for updates on Made for Love Season 2 plot lines, and Milioti's reaction to hearing that fans have been floating her name play Cher in the upcoming biopic. (Spoiler alert: She's flummoxed. Cher is sleek. She's "Don Knotts on a boat.")
