Ginnifer Goodwin and Allen Leech star in Nick Payne’s two-hander Constellations, which officially opens June 14 at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse. Previews began June 6.
Constellations is an exploration of cosmic collision. The play tells the story of Roland, a beekeeper, and Marianne, a quantum physicist, and asks: What are their odds of falling in love?
The engagement, directed by Giovanna Sardelli, plays through July 16.

“With infinite moments that can change the trajectory of a life, it’s anyone’s guess how cosmic collision is possible,” read production notes from the Geffen. “[Constellations] is a charming, devastating and profound exploration of the universal truth of finding and losing love. A play that balances on the question of ‘what if’ is, at its core, a poignant picture of ‘what is.’”
Tickets are available in person at the Geffen Playhouse box office, by phone at (310) 208-5454 or online at geffenplayhouse.org. The Gil Cates Theater at the Geffen Playhouse is located at 10886 Le Conte Avenue, Los Angeles.
