Video Christine Baranski Got Drunk With Her Mom When She Was Accepted Into Juilliard

Plus, the Tony and Emmy winner shares which Broadway musical she could play any part in.

Some occasions are worth sharing a toast with your parents—and getting into Juilliard is one of them. Check out the CBS Sunday Morning profile on Tony and Emmy winner Christine Baranski, who talks about her upcoming show The Gilded Age, her marriage to the late Matthew Cowles, and the sole time she got drunk with her mom at The Algonquin to celebrate her acceptance into the famed school of drama.

The star also shared her origin story on discovering the performing arts. Her father took the family to see Śląsk, a Polish folk troupe, and instantly fell in love. From there, it was straight shot to Broadway musicals, like South Pacific, for which Baranski knows all of the songs. She even used to perform the show in her grandparents' house all by herself.

In addition, the now-famous tale of Baranski performing Mame with a broken leg came up in her interview with fellow Broadway alum Mo Rocca. Check it out below.

And if Baranski's best drinking stories aren't good enough for you, be sure to check out her appearance last week on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where she shared a dream in which she met late composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim during a nuclear threat.
