Cherry Jones, John Glover, Reed Birney, A.R. Gurney, Joyce Van Patten, Fritz Weaver, Casey Childs, Elizabeth Morton and other friends and colleagues will offer tributes.
Wilson, a member of the Primary Stages family, served on the Artistic Advisory Board at the company's inception in 1984. In 1989, she joined the Primary Stages Board of Directors, where she continued to serve until her death on May 9, 2015.
"As an actress, Elizabeth Wilson was an American national treasure," stated Primary Stages founder and executive producer Casey Childs. "As a member of Primary Stages' board for over thirty years, Elizabeth was invaluable in her steadfast commitment to our company and our mission of developing new plays by new playwrights."
"Elizabeth Wilson devoted her life, reverently so, to her work as an actress," stated actress Elizabeth Morton, a close friend of Ms. Wilson. "The theatre community was her extended family that captivated and delighted her to no end. She requested that any tribute given in her honor be held 'to celebrate a lucky life.' And so we will do just that."
The event is open to the public. To RSVP email [email protected]. Donations may be made in Ms. Wilson's memory to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
