The Chicago premiere of Lynn Nottage's Pulitzer-prize winning play Sweat began performances March 9 at the Goodman Theatre. The play, which premiered on Broadway in 2017 and also recently saw its London debut at the Donmar Warehouse, is scheduled to run through April 14.
Sweat concerns a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together on the line of a factory floor. When layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, they find themselves pitted against each other in the hard fight to stay afloat.
