Minneapolis theatre company Theater Latté Da will commission and workshop She's Come Undone, a new musical based on Wally Lamb's best-selling novel of the same title. The new work features music and lyrics by Michael Holland and a book by Darrah Cloud and David Simpatico.
She's Come Undone follows Dolores, a wise but wounded 13-year-old girl, throughout her coming-of-age. The novel was selected as the fourth book for Oprah's Book Club in 1996.
The musical will be workshopped by a team featuring music director Jason Hansen, Theater Latté Da director of new work Elissa Adams, actors Erin Capello Kopp, Emily Gunyou Halaas, Olivia Kemp, Ryan London Levin, Sara Masterson, Eric Morris, Janet Paone, Janet Trow, and Evan Tyler Wilson, and guitarist Kyle Baker. Joelle Coutu will serve as stage manager.
The work is one of 11 projects currently under development as part of Theater Latté Da’s NEXT 25x25 initiative supporting the development of 25 new musicals and plays with music by the end of 2025.
