Regional News Cast and Creative Team Set for Ogunquit Playhouse's Come From Away

Richard J. Hinds will direct and choreograph the Tony-nominated 9/11-themed musical.

Casting is now set for the Ogunquit Playhouse's upcoming production of the Tony-nominated musical Come From Away, which will be presented May 15–June 14 at the Maine venue.

Directed and choreographed by Richard J. Hinds, the cast will feature Hashini Amarasinghe as Janice, Kyle Nicholas Anderson (Something Rotten!) as Kevin T/Garth, Isaiah Bailey (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) as Bob/Muhumuza, David Benoit (Les Misérables) as Claude, Dayna Jarae Dantzler (Waitress) as Hannah/Muhumuza’s Wife, John El-Jor (Mean Girls) as Kevin J/Ali, Kent M. Lewis (Mamma Mia!) as Nick/Doug, Mary Kate Morrissey (Wicked) as Beverley/Annette, Liz Pearce (Suffs) as Diane, Ben Roseberry as Oz, Jessica Sheridan as Beulah, and Erica Spyres (Once) as Bonnie, plus understudies Travis Darghali, Andrew Harvey, Laura Stracko, and Katherine Alexis Thomas. Casting is by ARC's Mark Brandon and Jarrett Reiche.

Come From Away, with music, lyrics, and a book by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, opened on Broadway March 12, 2017, going on to receive seven 2017 Tony nominations, including Best Musical. The work, which played its final Broadway performance in October 2022, tells the true story of 7,000 air passengers stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, in the wake of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The upcoming production will also have associate direction and choreography by Elyn Collier, orchestrations by August Eriksmoen, arrangements by Ian Eisendrath, music direction by Sam Grossier, scenic design by Nate Bertone, costume design by Michelle J.Li, lighting design by Richard Latta, sound design by Kevin Heard, and wig/hair and makeup design by Emilia Martin. Patricia L. Grabb is the production stage manager.

Come From Away is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. Open captioning will be available for all performances June 4–8.
