Classic Arts News Cast and Creative Team Announced for Re-Imagined The Marriage of Figaro on Little Island

Countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo will star in the 90-minute remix of the Mozart masterpiece.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the re-imagined adaptation of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro which begins August 30 at The Amph on Little Island prior to an official opening September 5.

In the "90-minute remix" of Mozart's opera, every leading role will be played by countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, who also conceived the project. Costanzo will be joined onstage by Christopher Bannow, Daniel Liu, Ryan Shinji Murray, Emma Ramos, and Ariana Venturi. Also appearing, in special arrangement with the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, are Avery Bayani, Kaian Lilien, Xavier Griffin, Loic Nguyen, Dean Riley-Driver, Nicholas Tanner, and Oliver Tanner.

Dustin Willis directs the production, which features new arrangements and music direction by Dan Schlosberg. Schlosberg, the music director of Heartbeat Opera, has created similar adaptations and arrangements of numerous operas for the company. The production also features scenic design by Willis and Lisa Laratta, costume design by Emily Adams Bode Aujla, lighting design by Barbara Samuels, sound design by Sun Hee Kil, video design by Nicholas Hussong, and dramaturgy by Jacob Bird. Kasson Marroquin is the production stage manager, and Sally C. Burgos is the stage manager.
