Tony Award winner Cady Huffman (The Will Rogers Follies, The Producers) will leave the cast of Shear Madness August 21. Huffman has been in the role since June 20 and will be succeeded by Lisa McMillan (La Cage Aux Folles).
Joining the cast at the same time will be Gil Brady, following Adam Gerber into the role of Eddie Lawrence. Producers also announced that the Off-Broadway hit is now selling tickets through January 2017.
The show, which had been running at New World Stages since it opened November 11, 2015, reopened last month at the Davenport Theatre, 354 West 45th Street. The cast also features Jordan Ahnquist, Kate Middleton, Patrick Noonan and Jonathan Randell Silver.
The long-running comedic and interactive Shear Madness, which celebrated its 35th year of performances in Boston, is adapted by Bruce Jordan — who also directs the Off-Broadway staging — and Marilyn Abrams, from Paul Pörtner's German psychodrama. The show is set in a unisex hair salon where a murder takes place. The audience is invited to vote nightly on who is guilty and who isn't, producing varied results.
