
Burkhardt will succeed Allison Case in the role of bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan. Case will play her final performance in the ABBA-scored musical Jan. 25.
Burkhardt will join a cast that currently includes Carolee Carmello as Donna Sheridan, Judy McLane as Tanya and Gina Ferrall as Rosie with Chris Peluso as Sky, Sean Allan Krill as Sam Carmichael, Pearce Bunting as Bill Austin, Ben Livingston as Harry Bright, Ben Gettinger as Pepper, Samantha Eggers as Lisa, Amina Robinson as Ali and Raymond J. Lee as Eddie.
The ensemble comprises Brent Black, Timothy Booth, Allyson Carr, Lanene Charters, Meghan Dreyfuss, Matthew Farver, Lori Haley Fox, Heidi Godt, Jon-Erik Goldberg, Frankie James Grande, Corey Greenan, Bryan Scott Johnson, Monica Kapoor, Robin Levine, Corinne Melançon, Ian Paget, Courtney Reed, Ryan Sander, Collette Simmons, Traci Victoria and Leah Zepel.
Brandi Burkhardt's theatrical credits also include The Civil War (National Theatre concert), Li'l Abner (Los Angeles Reprise series) and Jekyll & Hyde (international tour). Her screen credits include "Passions," "Boston Legal," "Law & Order: SVU" and the upcoming film "Confessions of a Shopaholic."
Mamma Mia! employs the hit songs of famed pop group ABBA to tell the story of Sophie Sheridan, a young girl who hopes to discover the identity of her father. On the eve of her wedding, she brings three men from her mother Donna's past back to the Greek island they visited over two decades ago.
Mamma Mia! features music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, a book by Catherine Johnson, direction by Phyllida Lloyd and choreography by Anthony Van Laast.
