Adam Kantor and Michael Arden

Broadway’s Adam Kantor along with Brian Bordainick are putting a new spin on their culinary experience-meets-theatre endeavor StoryCourse. From June 2–29, StoryCourse presents PrideTable in celebration of WorldPride and the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots.

StoryCourse pairs culture and cuisine by telling the stories of chefs through chapters that correspond with each course of a multi-course meal. Kantor, best known as Telephone Guy from the acclaimed The Band’s Visit, and co-founder Brodainick previously presented How Do You Hug A Tiger?, the story of Korean-American immigrant and Michelin chef Jae Jung, and Unleavened: A Seder, to great success.

Now, the duo has partnered with Tony-nominated director Michael Arden (Once On This Island), production designer Jason Sherwood (Rent on Fox), lighting designer Brian Tovar collectively as Livesight, along with writer Benj Pasek (Dear Evan Hansen), Joshua D. Reid, producers Eleni Gianulis and Sean Bradford, and Queer Food activists Ora Wise and Liz Alpern for PrideTable.

Over five courses, diners will learn the five personal stories of a team of LGBTQ+ chefs to be announced.

PrideTable is also partnering with Hetrick-Martin Institute to create an ongoing program for underserved LGBTQ+ youth. These youngsters will learn workforce skills, help to create dishes, and shape stories while being mentored by leading industry professionals in the worlds of arts and food. They will work on behalf of PrideTable for the month of June. Proceeds from PrideTable will help support HMI's Arts & Culture program year-round.
