Helmed by Jeff Whiting, who will re-create Susan Stroman's original direction and choreography, the musical will play the Maine venue July 5–29.
Stage and screen star Vincent Pastore, who starred in the Broadway production, will again portray mobster Nick Valenti. He will be joined by Emmy winner Sally Struthers as Eden Brent, John Rochette as young playwright David Shayne, Reed Campbell as Cheech, Jemma Jane as Olive Neal, Kenny Morris as Julian Marx, John Paul Almon as Warner Purcell, Michele Ragusa as Helen Sinclair, and Bridget Elise as Ellen.
The ensemble includes Blaire Baker, Jake Corcoran, Elizabeth Dugas, Carissa Fiorillo, Dan Higgins, Justin Jutras, Patrick Lavallee, Will Mann, Brian Martin, Vanessa Mitchell, Corinne Munsch, Kaylee Olson, Joey Ortolani, Kelly Peterson, Lexie Plath, and Ian Saunders.
Bullets Over Broadway concerns a young playwright who is in desperate need of financial backing for his next show and accepts an offer he can’t refuse from a gangster looking to please his talentless girlfriend.
The creative team also includes music director and conductor Robbie Cowan, sound designer Ken Goodwin, scenic designer Jason Ardinozze-West, who has reimagined the original Tony-nominated scenic design by Santo Loquasto, and lighting designer Richard Latta.
The 2014 stage musical adaptation of Academy Award winner Allen's 1994 film comedy Bullets Over Broadway, helmed by Tony winner Stroman, was adapted by Allen and features songs from the 1920's and 30's.
