American Repertory Theater in Massachusetts has unveiled its 2024-2025 season, which will include world premieres from Ayodele Casel, Kate Hamill, and The Lazours.

Casel, who provided tap choreography for the recent Broadway revival of Funny Girl, will bring her solo piece Diary of a Tap Dancer to the company in December and January, with exact dates to be announced. The performance mixes dance, narrative, and song to tell Casel's story while also honoring the female tap dancers that came before her.

Also making world premieres during the season will be a new adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey penned by Hamill, and Richard Rodgers Award winners Daniel Lazour and Patrick Lazour's Night Side Songs. The latter, being produced in association with Philadelphia Theatre Company, promises to "take the audience on a journey through illness that brings us closer to life," according to press notes.

The season will open with the previously announced revival of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, to be directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director and Tony winner Diane Paulus with choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Jagged Little Pill). Performances will begin in September.

An additional title in the upcoming season is to be announced.

Season tickets are currently on sale at AmericanRepertoryTheater.org.
