Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose is set to star in two upcoming films: Amazon's House of Spoils and Sony's Kraven the Hunter.
In the psychological thriller House of Spoils, DeBose plays an ambitious chef facing the challenges of opening her first restaurant, particularly sabotage attempts from the powerful spirit of the estate's previous owner. The film will be released on Prime Video October 3 and also stars fellow stage veteran Arian Moayed.
Kraven the Hunter, which is based on the Marvel comics of the same name, hits movie theatres December 13. DeBose plays Calypso, a voodoo priestess and love interest of the title character, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Russell Crowe and Christopher Abbott are also featured in the film. DeBose's film and TV credits also include Netflix's adaptation of The Prom, Apple TV+'s Schmigadoon!, and Disney's animated musical Wish. She gained widespread recognition for playing Anita in Steven Spielberg's 2021 film adaptation of West Side Story, earning an Academy Award, a BAFTA, a Critics' Choice Award, a Golden Globe, and a SAG Award for her performance.
On stage, DeBose's extensive Broadway credits include Bring It On: The Musical, Pippin, Hamilton, A Bronx Tale, and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, the latter of which earned her a Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress.
