News Alice Ripley Will Star in A Christmas Memory Off Broadway at Irish Rep Tony winner Alice Ripley (Next To Normal) will star in the Off Broadway premiere of a new musical – A Christmas Memory – at Irish Repertory Theater, to begin performances Nov. 25.

The production is slated to run through Jan. 4 and will be directed by Charlotte Moore, Irish Rep's artistic director.

A Christmas Memory has a book by Duane Poole, music by Larry Grossman, and lyrics by Carol Hall. Aaron Gandy will music direct.

Ripley will play a character named Sook in the musical based on a short story by Truman Capote.

The play is set in 1930's Alabama with a plot centered around a group of eccentrics throwing a traditional Southern Christmas; the cast will also include Nancy Hess (Chicago), Taylor Richardson (Annie), Virginia Ann Woodruff (The Color Purple), Silvano Spagnuolo, Samuel Cohen (Once) and Ashley Robinson (Bright Star).

The design team will include choreograpy by Barry McNabb, scenic design by James Noone, costume design by David Toser, lighting design by Brian Nason, properties design by Deirdre Brennan and wig design by Robert Charles Vallance. Tickets are $70.
