Les Freres Corbusier, which comprises Timbers, Friedman and Sean Cunningham, created the work that will run through Dec. 21. Timbers (Rocky, Here Lies Love) directs the production that is written by Cunningham with music by Friedman.
According to Abrons, "After stewing for 80 years in political disgrace (and presumed death), Herbert Hoover takes the stage one more time to reclaim his legacy and save America in the process. Elvis Presley's iconic 1968 'Comeback Special' serves as direct inspiration for Hoover's own interactive, bad ass concert resurrection. Herbert's tanned, rested, and ready to rock your balls off!"
The cast includes Damien Baldet (Herbert Hoover), James Barry (Scotty), Alex Boniello (DJ), Erica Dorfler (Lucille), James Nathan Hopkins (Wallace), Talene Monahon (Sheila) and Larry Tobias (Harry S. Truman).
Here's Hoover! has set design by Amanda Stephens, costume design by Tony Award winner Paloma Young and Ana Hostetter, lighting design by Jake DeGroot, sound design by Cody Spencer and projection design by Daniel Brodie and Jake Pinholster. Danny Mefford is choreographer.
Sally Cade Holmes produces the Abrons run.
