Singer-actor Fantasia Barrino has announced plans for holiday concerts December 11 at the Highline Ballroom and December 13 at the Apollo Theatre, both in New York City. The Christmas After Midnight concert is part of a national concert tour for her new album of the same name.
The performer rose to fame as winner of the third season of American Idol, and has since gone on to a successful recording and concert career.
The concert’s title, Christmas After Midnight, is a reference to her most recent Broadway appearance, stepping into a featured role in the 2013 musical After Midnight. Barrino previously took over the role of Celie during the original Broadway run of The Color Purple.
Tickets for the 8 PM December 11 concert can be ordered from the Highline Ballroom, which is located at 431 W. 16th Street in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. Tickets for the December 13 concert at the Apollo can be ordered here.
The New York appearances are part of a tour that will launch at the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas on November 19, and will take her to Philadelphia, Houston, Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, and other cities in the coming weeks. Click here for a complete list of tour dates.
