Broadway's Tony- and Pulitzer-winning A Strange Loop releases its Broadway cast album as a CD November 4. The release follows the June 10 digital and streaming launch of the album. With a book, music, and lyrics by Michael R. Jackson, the musical continues at the Lyceum Theatre through January 15, 2023.

A Strange Loop was the most Tony-nominated production of the 2021-22 Broadway season, with nominations for Best Musical, Leading Actor in a Musical (Jaquel Spivey), Featured Actress in a Musical (L Morgan Lee), Featured Actor in a Musical (John-Andrew Morrison), Book of a Musical (Jackson), Score (Jackson), Scenic Design of a Musical (Arnulfo Maldonado), Lighting Design of a Musical (Jen Schriever), Sound Design of a Musical (Drew Levy), Direction of a Musical (Stephen Brackett), and Orchestrations (Charlie Rosen). The production won Best Musical, and Jackson won Book of a Musical.

The work centers on Usher, a young, Black, gay theatre writer grappling with his toxic inner thoughts while trying to write a musical about a young, Black, gay theatre writer grappling with his toxic inner thought while trying to write a musical about... and on and on.

The Broadway production and its album feature 2022 Tony nominees Lee and Morrison, Antwayn Hopper, James Jackson, Jr., John-Michael Lyles, and Jason Veasey reprising their performances from the Off-Broadway production, along with newcomer and fellow 2022 Tony nominee Spivey as Usher.

Also on the musical's creative team are costume designer Montana Levi Blanco, music director Rona Siddiqui, and casting director Destiny Lilly of The Telsey Office.

The Broadway album—produced by Michael Croiter and Jackson, with Kurt Deutsch and Barbara Whitman as executive producers, and orchestrator Rosen and music director Siddiqui as co-producers—is the work's second, following the Off-Broadway cast album released following its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons, produced in collaboration with Page 73 Productions, in 2019.
