Six cast recordings are up for Best Musical Theater Album at the 65th annual ceremony.

The six nominees for Best Musical Theater Album at the 65th annual Grammy Awards have been revealed.

Earning nominations November 15 were the albums for Broadway's A Strange Loop, Mr. Saturday Night, and MJ the Musical, as well as the Broadway revivals of Into the Woods and Caroline, Or Change. Six the Musical's live album from their Broadway opening night was also recognized.

The composers and lyricists of the new scores, along with the producers, were included in the nominations. See below for the full list of individual nomination recipients in the category.

Additional nominees from the theatre world include the soundtracks for Steven Spielberg's West Side Story in the Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media category, and a host of nominations for Lin-Manuel Miranda's Encanto, including Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, and Best Song Written for Visual Media for "We Don't Talk About Bruno."

Hadestown singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell received a Best American Roots Song nomination for "Bright Star" off her self-titled album, and three of the nominees for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording are theatre favorites; All About Me!: My Remarkable Life in Show Business by Mel Brooks as narrated by author Mel Brooks, Finding Me as narrated by author Viola Davis, and Aristotle and Dante Dive Into the Waters of the World as narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Social media maven Randy Rainbow received a Best Comedy Album nomination for his album A Little Brains, A Little Talent, and Renée Fleming received a Best Classical Solo Vocal Album nomination for Voice of Nature — The Anthropocene, alongside pianist Yannick Nézet-Séguin. This is Fleming's 10th Grammy nomination, and her eighth in this category, making her the most recognized soloist in the categorie's history.

The Best Opera Recording consists of three nominees this year, including Aucoin: Eurydice from the Metropolitan Opera, Blanchard: Fire Shut Up in My Bones from the Metropolitan Opera, and Davis: X - The Life and Times of Malcolm X from the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. The 65th annual ceremony will be held February 5, 2023, and air on CBS.
