Disney's Beauty and the Beast will take the stage at Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre beginning November 21, with opening night set for November 29. See Broadway favorite Julia Udine (The Phantom of the Opera) and Daniel Wisniewski leading the cast as Belle and The Beast (respectively) in the production, running through December 31, above.
Glenn Casale is directing the new production, which features choreography by Kim Arnett. Based on the fairy tale and Disney's Oscar-nominated 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and a book by Linda Woolverton.
Co-starring with Udine and Wisniewski are Dana Orange as Lumiere, Fran Prisco as Cogsworth, Mary Martello as Mrs. Potts, Bill Van Horn as Maurice, Chris Stevens as Gaston, Giovanni DiGabriele as LeFou, Rebecca Robbins as Madame de la Grande Bouche, Adam Hoyak as Monsieur D'arque, and Bonnie Kelly as Babette. Grant Knudson and Raphael Sommer are sharing the role of Chip, and the Silly Girls are played by Audrey Biehl Simmons, Rachael Britton Hart, and Alexandra Frohlinger.
The ensemble includes Sara Brophy, Andrew Eckert, Phoebe Gavula, Jessie Jones, Kevin Kulp, Kimberly Maxson, Daniel Miller, Zummy Mohammed, Devon Sinclair, and Samantha Roche.
The production features scenic design by Robert Kovach, lighting design by Matt Demascolo, sound design by Ed Chapman, costume design by Mary Folino, wig design by Carissa Thorlakson, and makeup design by Kelsey Brooks.
