The new 'electro-swing' musical Whisper Darkly will release a concept album via TBIC Music Group February 23. Get a first listen to Kimberly Akimbo star Alli Mauzey singing from the upcoming release above. Mauzey sings a dance "pre"-mix (since we haven't heard the "real" version yet) of "Too Much Fun Fun." The single will get an official release January 17.

The work features music and lyrics by Andrew Gerle and a book by DJ Salisbury, transporting audiences to notorious Manhattan speakeasy the Hush Club in 1928. The arrival of an international African-American singing sensation kicks off a wild evening and nothing will ever be the same. Gerle's score mixes '20s and '30s jazz and vaudeville with 21st century EDM beats.

“To mark the anniversary of the beginning of Prohibition, the first roar of the Roaring '20s, we wanted to showcase 'Too Much Fun Fun,' a celebration of the joy of experiencing everything the world has to offer," say Gerle and Salisbury in a joint statement. "Alli Mauzey's performance on the album is delicious, quirky, and perfectly expresses her character's lust for life. In the recording process, she even threw in a high C, which is now written into the song!"

Along with Mauzey, the album features performances from Aléna Watters, Kayla Davion, Keri René Fuller, Brad Oscar, Howard McGillin, Claybourne Elder, Alistair Brammer, Victoria Huston-Elem, Riley Noland, Graham Stevens, Hansel Tan, Khalifa White, D’Kaylah Whitley, and Luke Hawkins.

The album is produced by Gerle and PiSk (Roberto Costa), and features Sara Caswell on violin, Josh Roberts on drums, Alphonso Horne on trumpet, and Roberto Gervasi on accordion.
