Education News Six Brings Pianos to Queens Public School With Save The Music Foundation

The partnership on the Keys + Kids Grant will support students at Q252 The Queens School of Inquiry.

Queens are supporting Queens. Broadway's Six is partnering with Save the Music Foundation on a Keys + Kids Grant to provide students at New York City's Q252 The Queens School of Inquiry with pianos and music equipment.

Students in grades six through 12 at the public school will newly have access to one Casio Celviano Grand Hybrid Piano and ten Casio WK-7600 Music Workstations. The pianos are considered on the leading edge of technology in digital pianos and the additional equipment will empower students to compose, record, and perform their works. Gig bags will allow students to transport keyboards home safely as well.

The partnership stems from a hope to further open up opportunities for students to join and be empowered by music education programs, particularly those focused on instruments. Save the Music Foundation is a nonprofit that partners with school districts to raise funds for bringing music programs back to public schools. For every ticket sold between March 14 and March 28, Six will donate a dollar to the effort.
