To celebrate the upcoming 1,000th performance of the Tony-winning musical Hadestown (as well as the first day of spring, a holiday celebrated in the musical), Sing It Again Records will release a limited-edition transparent green vinyl box set of the Grammy-winning Original Broadway Cast Recording March 17.

The box set features the recording on three transparent green vinyl records and a 16-page booklet with complete song lyrics as well as photos of the Hadestown cast and creative team in the studio. This marks the fourth album printing following the original release on traditional black vinyl, a limited-edition red vinyl released in 2019, and the limited-edition clear vinyl edition released in 2022. This latest recording is available at BarnesandNoble.com.

The original Broadway cast recording, first released in summer 2019, features a Tony-winning performance from André De Shields, along with Reeve Carney, Eva Noblezada, Patrick Page, Amber Gray, Jewelle Blackman, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer, Kay Trinidad, Afra Hines, Timothy Hughes, John Krause, Kimberly Marable, and Ahmad Simmons.

Hadestown premiered in 2016 at New York Theatre Workshop, playing productions in Canada and London before coming to Broadway in April 2019. Following two intertwining love stories—that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone—Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.

The show, featuring a book and score by Anaïs Mitchell, won eight 2019 Tony Awards: Best Director of a Musical (Rachel Chavkin), Best Featured Actor in a Musical (De Shields), Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Bradley King), Best Scenic Design of a Musical (Rachel Hauck), Best Sound Design of a Musical (Jessica Paz and Nevin Steinberg), Best Orchestrations (Michael Chorney and Todd Sickafoose), Best Original Score (Mitchell), and Best Musical.
