Current Therapy! star Eddie Mekka

The production currently stars Tony nominee Eddie Mekka (The Lieutenant, "Laverne & Shirley") at the Westside Theatre Downstairs. Italian + Jewish = Therapy began performances at Off-Broadway's Little Shubert Theatre Nov. 3, 2006, and officially opened Dec. 8, 2006. Following a transfer to the Westside Theatre, the production will have played a total of 40 previews and 684 regular performances.

"We couldn't be more thrilled with our New York run," creator and original star Solomon said in a statement. "When we first announced the New York engagement, the plan was to stay for only three months before taking the show on the road. But the audiences just kept coming back and bringing their families with them. So here we are, finally wrapping up after almost two years, two different theatres, three different actors and over 700 performances. Only in New York could audiences need so much therapy! Thank you New York!"

Solomon continues to tour with his popular solo work throughout the U.S.

Italian + Jewish = Therapy, according to press notes, "relates to the wacky side of the human condition, combining comic voices, sound effects and astounding characters — bringing alive a myriad of people from all walks of life."

Show times are Tuesdays at 7 PM, Wednesdays-Saturdays at 8 PM with matinees Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 3 PM.

The Westside Theatre is located in Manhattan at 407 West 43rd Street. Tickets, priced $61.25-$71.25, are available by calling (212) 239-6200 or by visiting www.telecharge.com.
