Broadway News My Fair Lady Revival, Starring Laura Benanti, Closes on Broadway July 7 Bartlett Sher directs the Lincoln Center Theater revival, with a national tour and West End bow on the horizon.

The current revival of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s My Fair Lady plays its final performance on Broadway July 7. Upon closing, the Lincoln Center Theater production will have played 39 previews and 509 regular performances.

The production will launch a national tour December 19 at the Opera House at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and has plans for an engagement in London's West End production (exact dates and casting to be announced).

The closing cast features Tony winner Laura Benanti, (who took over the role from Lauren Ambrose in October 2018) as Eliza, Tony nominee Harry Hadden-Paton as Henry Higgins, Tony nominee Alexander Gemignani as Alfred P. Doolittle, Christian Dante White as Freddy Eynsford-Hill, Rosemary Harris as Mrs. Higgins, Allan Corduner as Colonel Pickering, Linda Mugleston as Mrs. Pearce, and Clarke Thorell as Zoltan Karpathy. Kerstin Anderson and Michael Halling have played the roles of Eliza and Higgins at select performances.

My Fair Lady officially opened April 19, 2018, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Directed by Bartlett Sher, the revival earned 10 Tony Award nominations in 2018, winning for Catherine Zuber’s costume design.

The cast is rounded out by Cameron Adams, Shereen Ahmed, Mark Aldrich, Becca Ayers, Barbara Jo Bednarczuk, Rebecca Eichenberger, SuEllen Estey, Christopher Faison, Hannah Florence, Kaitlyn Frank, Steven Trumon Gray, Adam Grupper, Joe Hart, Michael X. Martin, Lauralyn McClelland, Justin Lee Miller, Rommel Pierre O’Choa, Keven Quillon, JoAnna Rhinehart, Lance Roberts, Blair Ross, Brian Shepard, Lauren Sprague, Sarah Quinn Taylor, Matt Wall, Michael Williams, and Lee Zarrett.

The show is choreographed by Christopher Gattelli and has sets by Michael Yeargan, costumes by Catherine Zuber, lighting by Donald Holder, sound design by Mark Salzberg, and music direction by Ted Sperling.

The revival released a cast album featuring the original company. A four-track EP, Songs of My Fair Lady featuring Benanti, was released earlier this year.

No plans have been announced as to what will next take the stage at LCT’s Beaumont Theater. Currently running at LCT’s Off-Broadway spaces are The Rolling Stone and In the Green.
