Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical Oklahoma!, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year—and has returned to Broadway in a vibrant new production—will be celebrated at the 92Y May 4–6 as part of Lyrics and Lyricists.
Rodgers and Hammerstein President Ted Chapin will host the presentations of A Beautiful Dawning—Oklahoma! at 75, which are directed by Parker Esse, with music direction by pianist Andy Einhorn.

In addition to beloved songs from the score, Chapin will examine songs cut from the production during its pre-Broadway run, such as “Boys and Girls Like You and Me” (later used in State Fair on Broadway), while also exploring Oklahoma's continued relevance 75 years after its history-making Broadway premiere.
Performers include Kerstin Anderson (The Sound of Music national tour), Jason Gotay (Spider Man), Phillip Attmore (Hello, Dolly!), and Nyla Watson (The Color Purple).
Musicians include Justin Smith (violin), Scott Kuney (guitar), Mark Vanderpoel (bass), and Perry Cavari (drums).
