Following a sold-out run at Edinburgh Fringe in 2022, Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! has expanded into a new version which will return to the festival this year for a four-week run at Underbelly's The Udderbelly August 2-27. After the Fringe, the murder mystery musical will play Bristol Old Vic September 13-30 and HOME Manchester October 5-21.

Reprising their roles in the comedic show will be off-West End's Bronté Barbé (Newsies) as Kathy, West End's Rebekah Hinds (Oklahoma!) as Stella, West End's Jodie Jacobs (Rock of Ages) as Felicia, TJ Lloyd (Guys and Dolls) as Justin, and Imelda Warren-Green (Doctor Who: Time Fracture) as Erica. Best friends Kathy and Stella host the least successful true crime podcast in Hull. But when their favorite author is killed, might they solve the mystery—and turn their podcast into an international success?

“Considering that this has all come from a totally casual lockdown text about true crime fans, we are overwhelmed (and delighted) by how well the show went down last year," show creators Jon Brittain (Rotterdam) and Matthew Floyd Jones Jones (Frisky and Mannish) said in a statement. "It’s incredibly exciting that we’re now able to scale it up to the next level!”

Featuring a book and lyrics by Brittain and music and lyrics by Jones, Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! is presented by Francesca Moody Productions, Kater Gordon, Wessex Grove and Fiery Angel. It is produced in association with Underbelly in Edinburgh, and with Bristol Old Vic on tour.
