Tony nominee Andrew Rannells and Kelli Barrett are Tony nominee Jarrod Spector’s guest stars in the one-night-only premiere of his newest solo show, (con)artist, April 15 at 8 PM at Sony Hall (235 West 46th Street).
Rannells, who can currently be seen on Showtime’s Black Monday, starred with Spector on Broadway in Jersey Boys. Barrett (Spector’s wife) plays Liza Minnelli in FX’s Fosse/Verdon.
Spector’s (con)artist illuminates the actor’s journey from a six-year-old Star Search contestant channeling Bobby Darin through his theatrical career playing such pop stars as Frankie Valli and Sonny Bono.
Spector was nominated for both Tony and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his performance as Barry Mann in Beautiful – The Carole King Musical. He made his Broadway debut as Gavroche in the original production of Les Miserables, and went on to play a record-breaking 1,500 performances as Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys on Broadway. He is currently starring as Sonny Bono in The Cher Show.
