With the July 13 power outage causing many Broadway shows to cancel their Saturday evening performance (typically the most profitable show of the week), the boards saw a considerable dip in grosses for the week ending July 14.

A handful of shows—all, coincidentally, starting with B (Beetlejuice, Beautiful, et al)—kept their lights on. Among them was Burn This, which also ended its limited engagement July 14. The production, starring Tony nominee Adam Driver and Keri Russell in her Broadway debut, took in $897,621 for its final eight performances at the Hudson Theatre (87.78 percent of its potential), marking its third highest weekly gross during its run.

Meanwhile, a big celebration was to be had at Broadway’s smallest theatre, as What the Constitution Means to Me fully recouped its $2.5 million capitalization. The Tony-nominated play, running through August 24 at the Hayes Theater, achieved the threshold at 99.31 percent capacity for the week, grossing 87.46 percent of its potential with $454,059.

Despite being down a performance, 12 shows grossed over $1 million, with Hamilton and The Lion King both surpassing $2 million (the latter still playing eight performances, instead of its planned nine).
